Winner in Fashion Lighting Design / LED Interior Systems
Designed by Christien Methot of design one lighting design, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City underwent a renovation of their main lobby with the intent of creating a multi-purpose space to display the art of their students. They created a modular museum space with complete flexibility to highlight the pieces from as small as a pair of earrings to as large as a fifteen foot sculpture. In the Lobby, LED track heads are individually controlled and have the ability to aim (pan/tilt) and dim via ipad. This technology along with integral dimming of the other architectural lighting allows the university to create endless looks in the space to better present their students artwork. Overall, this new lobby for FIT is the perfect "fit," as an innovative space for innovative thinkers.
